When you click print in any modern app such as Microsoft Edge, the print dialog box may appear too big depending upon the resolution and scaling settings in your system. The print button may go off the bottom of your screen and you’re unable to access it. Also, you may not be able to move the Print dialog box up.<\/p>\n

Rather than adjusting the display resolution or DPI settings, a better option would be to get the Windows 8 print panel in place of the new modern print dialog in Windows 10. This post tells you how to replace the modern Windows 10 print dialog with Windows 8’s metro style Print panel.<\/p>\n

When you Print from modern apps in Windows 10, the print options are shown in a dialog box with blank background as below.<\/p>\n

In Windows 8, print options (panel) appear on the right-side of the screen instead of being shown in a separate dialog box. For those who like the Windows 8’s metro-style print options panel, and want to bring back the same in Windows 10, here is quick registry hack to do so.<\/p>\n

Enable Windows 8-style Print Panel in Windows 10<\/h2>\n

Start Regedit.exe and go to the following branch:<\/p>\n

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\Print<\/pre>\n
Create a DWORD (32 bit) value named EnableModernPrintDialog<\/strong>, leave the value data as 0, and exit the registry Editor.<\/p>\n
Now, here is how the print options would look like.<\/p>\n
