However, in some systems, the icon may be missing from the notification area.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31469\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/windows_security_tray_icon.png\" alt=\"windows security tray icon missing\" width=\"283\" height=\"309\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s see how to restore the missing icon.<\/p>\n<h2>Restore the Windows Security Tray Icon<\/h2>\n<p>SecurityHealthSystray.exe is the module responsible for displaying the Windows Security icon.<\/p>\n<p>Right-click Start, click Run, type the following file name, and click OK.<\/p>\n<pre>C:\\Windows\\System32\\SecurityHealthSystray.exe<\/pre>\n<p>The &#8220;Windows Security&#8221; icon should now appear in the notification area.<\/p>\n<h3>Auto-starting the program<\/h3>\n<h4>Option 1: Using the Startup folder<\/h4>\n<p>To automatically launch the program <code>SecurityHealthSystray.exe<\/code> at every startup, create a shortcut to it and place the shortcut in your Startup folder. The following method works for all user accounts.<\/p>\n<p>You can auto-start the program via the registry run key.<\/p>\n<p>Open an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">Admin Command Prompt<\/a> window. Copy the following command and paste it into the Command Prompt<\/p>\n<pre>reg add \"HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run\" \/v SecurityHealth \/d \"%windir%\\system32\\SecurityHealthSystray.exe\" \/t REG_SZ \/f<\/pre>\n<p>That&#8217;s it.
