Error: <strong>0x8007001F<\/strong>[gle=0x000000b7]\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>As you can see above, two user profiles seem to be invalid, and their SIDs (as per the log file) are given below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>S-1-5-21-850299350-1452774405-4938938-1001<\/li>\n<li>S-1-5-21-850299350-1452774405-4938938-1003<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<p>Running the <code><strong>whoami \/user<\/strong><\/code> command showed this:<\/p>\n<pre>User Name SID\r\n========= ==========================================\r\nhp\\kokoe S-1-5-21-850299350-1452774405-4938938-1008\r\n\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>So, it&#8217;s clear that the SID <code>S-1-5-21-850299350-1452774405-4938938-1008<\/code> is a valid and functioning profile that should <strong>NOT<\/strong> be deleted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The other two SIDs are invalid. Deleting the invalid SIDs from the registry should fix the error <code>0x8007001F<\/code>.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>To fix the error <code>0x8007001F<\/code> when installing an update, delete the two invalid SIDs mentioned in the log file. First, create a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/create-restore-protection-point-rollback-windows\/\">System Restore Point<\/a>\u00a0and complete the following steps.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Note:<\/strong> The following SIDs were mentioned in the log from the subject computer. The SIDs will be different on each system. The following solution is based on the findings from the setupact.log above. Adapt the following solution accordingly to your situation.<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Launch the Registry Editor by running <code>regedit.exe<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Go to the following branch:\n<pre>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\ProfileList<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Backup the branch to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/how-to-use-reg-files-registration-entries-windows\/\">REG file<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Expand the ProfileList key.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click subkey &#8220;S-1-5-21-850299350-1452774405-4938938-1001&#8221; and choose Delete.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click subkey &#8220;S-1-5-21-850299350-1452774405-4938938-1003&#8221; and choose Delete.<\/li>\n<li>Exit the Registry Editor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>See if you&#8217;re able to install the update(s) now.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note: Microsoft forums user <a href=\"https:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/windows_11-windows_install\/cant-update-windows-11-from-21h2-to-22h2\/bfad025f-16e5-4306-a2ab-e1230f75d90b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Zaki<\/a> experienced the above issue.
