With the classic ribbon interface removed in Windows 11, the “Picture Tools” tab and the “Slideshow” button have also been removed. You may be wondering how to start a slideshow from a folder in Windows 11.<\/p>\n

View Images as a Slideshow in Windows 11<\/h2>\n

There are two options to view your photos as a slideshow in Windows 11 without opening the Photos app<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Option 1: Add “Slideshow” option to image files right-click menu<\/h3>\n

You can add a “Slideshow” option to the right-click context menu of image file types. This option is equivalent to the original “Slideshow” ribbon command.<\/p>\n

Download the file add-slideshow-context-menu.zip<\/a>, unzip and apply the .reg file.<\/p>\n

You’ll now see the option “Slide show” in the right-click menu for image files (.png, .jpg, .bmp, .gif, .tif, .tiff, .jfif, etc.). Clicking on the option starts the slideshow from the current file.<\/p>\n

Option 2: Bring back the classic ribbon in Windows 11<\/h3>\n
You can apply a registry edit that brings back the Windows 10-style ribbon UI in Windows 11.<\/p>\n
