This functionality can also be added to the right-click menu.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Add Copy To and Move To options to the context menu<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Click Start, type <b>Regedit.exe<\/b> and press ENTER<\/li>\n<li>Go to the following branch in the Registry Editor.\n<pre>HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\\Allfilesystemobjects\\shellex\\ContextMenuHandlers<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>From the Edit menu, create a new key named <b>Copy To<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>With <strong>Copy To<\/strong>\u00a0selected, double-click <b>(default)<\/b> value on the right, and set its data to:\n<pre>{C2FBB630-2971-11d1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Similarly, create a new key named <b>Move To<\/b>, in this branch:\n<pre>HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\\Allfilesystemobjects\\shellex\\ContextMenuHandlers<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>With <strong>Move To<\/strong> selected, double-click <b>(default) <\/b>and set its data to:\n<pre>{C2FBB631-2971-11d1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Exit the Registry Editor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>via Command-line<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To do this using command-line, open an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a> window and type:<\/p>\n<pre>reg add \"HKCR\\Allfilesystemobjects\\shellex\\ContextMenuHandlers\\Copy To\" \/ve \/d \"{C2FBB630-2971-11d1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}\" \/t REG_SZ\r\n\r\nreg add \"HKCR\\Allfilesystemobjects\\shellex\\ContextMenuHandlers\\Move To\" \/ve \/d \"{C2FBB631-2971-11d1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}\" \/t REG_SZ<\/pre>\n<p>This adds <b>Copy To Folder<\/b> and <b>Move To Folder<\/b> entries to the context menu for all files and directories. The above registry edit works in all versions of Windows, including Windows 10.<\/p>\n<h4>Additional information<\/h4>\n<p>Although the options work fine when added to the context menu in Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, you&#8217;ll note a <a title=\"Problem caused by adding Copy To and Move To as context menu entries\" href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/xp\/movetocontext.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">side-effect<\/a> in Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The problem is that when opening multiple files from Windows Explorer, you&#8217;ll see the Copy To or the Move To dialog continuously popping up unnecessarily. As Raymond Chen notes in his <a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/oldnewthing\/?p=40773\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blog<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The &#8220;Copy to Folder&#8221; and &#8220;Move to Folder&#8221; options weren&#8217;t designed to be on the context menu.
