This policy also allows admins to show only specified settings. It&#8217;s possible that the setting is enabled on your computer via a registry-based policy.<\/p>\n<p>This policy allows IT Admins to either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prevent specific pages in the System Settings app from being visible or accessible.<br \/>\n(or)<\/li>\n<li>To do so for all pages except the pages you enter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This article tells you how to remove the policy setting in Windows 10 and 11.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Solution: Windows Update Missing in Settings<\/h2>\n<p>To show Windows Update (and the Check for Updates button) in Settings, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<h3>Method 1: Using Group Policy Editor (Pro and higher)<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Launch the Group Policy Editor (<code>gpedit.msc<\/code>)<\/li>\n<li>Go to the following branches one by one:\n<pre>Computer Configuration \u2192 Administrative Templates \u2192 Control Panel\r\nUser Configuration \u2192 Administrative Templates \u2192 Control Panel<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the above locations, double-click the &#8220;Settings Page Visibility&#8221; policy and set it to &#8220;Not configured&#8221;.\n<div class=\"newline\"><em>(If it&#8217;s already set to &#8220;Not configured&#8221;, set it to &#8220;Disabled&#8221;, click Apply, and then set it to &#8220;Not configured&#8221;)<\/em>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Exit the Group Policy Editor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"rp\"><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/gpedit-msc-windows-home-policy-plus\/\">Windows cannot find GPEDIT.MSC in Windows 10\/11 Home Edition<\/a><\/div>\n<hr>\n<h3>Method 2: Using the Registry Editor<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Start the Registry Editor (<code>regedit.exe<\/code>)<\/li>\n<li>Go to the following branch:\n<pre>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\Explorer<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Right-click &#8220;<code>SettingsPageVisibility<\/code>&#8221; (if the value exists) and choose Delete.<\/li>\n<li>Next, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/switch-hklm-hkcu-regedit-go-to\/\">switch to<\/a> the following branch (if it exists):\n<pre>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\Explorer<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Right-click &#8220;<code>SettingsPageVisibility<\/code>&#8221; (if the value exists) and choose Delete.<\/li>\n<li>Exit the Registry Editor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<h4>Using Command-line<\/h4>\n<p>To automate the above using command-line, open an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a> and type these two commands:<\/p>\n<pre>reg delete HKCU\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\Explorer \/v \"SettingsPageVisibility\" \/f\r\nreg delete HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\Explorer \/v \"SettingsPageVisibility\" \/f<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<p>Launch Settings now.
