Also, the Stocks Gadget may not show up when you add it to the Sidebar. A missing scripting run-time registration usually causes this problem.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/cal-orng-1.png\" width=\"157\" height=\"144\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Registering VBScript.DLL<\/h2>\n<p>Registering the vbscript.dll file from an admin Command Prompt fixes the problem. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p>Open admin Command Prompt and run the following command and press ENTER::<\/p>\n<pre>regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll<\/pre>\n<p>You should see the following message after running the command:<\/p>\n<p><i><b>DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<p>3. Restart Windows and see if the Calendar and Stocks Gadgets render correctly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/cal-orng-2.png\" width=\"157\" height=\"144\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">That doesn&#8217;t help?<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Fix the Zones Registry Key<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Of late, we&#8217;ve seen several cases where an additional IE Security Zone registry key causing this problem. The additional security zone may have been added by Malware, could appear as a pseudo-graphic number listed before zone number 0. The fix listed below is the same as the one documented in post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/gadgets-not-displayed-correctly-windows-7-vista\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gadgets are Not Displayed Correctly in Windows 7 and Windows<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/gadgets-not-displayed-correctly-windows-7-vista\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Vista<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Click Start, type <b>Regedit.exe,<\/b> and press Enter. This opens the Registry Editor.\u00a0Navigate to the following branch:<\/p>\n<pre>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\Zones<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/sidebargadgets2.png\" width=\"577\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under the Zones key, delete the subkey shown with an ASCII character, as in the above graphic.
