To configure Microsoft Edge with group policy objects, you install administrative templates that add rules and settings for Microsoft Edge to the Policy Definition template folder on individual computers.<\/p>\n<h2>Get Edge (Chromium) ADMX Group Policy Templates<\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft Edge (Chromium) group policy template files are <code>msedge.admx<\/code> and <code>msedgeupdate.admx<\/code>.\u00a0<code>msedge.admx<\/code> is to configure Microsoft Edge settings, and <code>msedgeupdate.admx<\/code> is to manage Microsoft Edge updates.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Visit the Edge (Chromium) ADMX download page at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/edge\/business\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft<\/a> site.<\/li>\n<li>Select the appropriate browser version, build, and bitness from the dropdown boxes in that link.<\/li>\n<li>Then, click on the &#8220;GET POLICY FILES&#8221; link. It downloads <code>MicrosoftEdgePolicyTemplates.cab<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click the cab file and copy <code>MicrosoftEdgePolicyTemplates.zip<\/code> file to a folder.<\/li>\n<li>Extract the contents of <code>MicrosoftEdgePolicyTemplates.zip<\/code> to a folder &#8212; e.g., <code>D:\\<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the folder &#8220;<code>D:\\MicrosoftEdgePolicyTemplates\\windows\\admx<\/code>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>Copy the files &#8220;<code>msedge.admx<\/code>&#8221; and &#8220;<code>msedgeupdate.admx<\/code>&#8221; to the following folder:\n<pre>C:\\Windows\\PolicyDefinitions<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Open the subfolder &#8220;<code>D:\\MicrosoftEdgePolicyTemplates\\windows\\admx\\en-US<\/code>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>Copy the files &#8220;<code>msedge.adml<\/code>&#8221; and &#8220;<code>msedgeupdate.adml<\/code>&#8221; to the following folder (for <code>en-US<\/code> users):\n<pre>C:\\Windows\\PolicyDefinitions\\en-us\\<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Launch the Group Policy Editor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>The above instructions are for a standalone Windows (Professional and higher) computer. Users can&#8217;t override the settings.
