This image better illustrates this.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/taskbar-padding-1.png\" width=\"599\" height=\"46\"><\/p>\n<p>To reduce the padding, try one of these steps:<\/p>\n<p><b>Option 1: Use Large Icons for Taskbar<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Right-click Taskbar, and click Properties<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/taskbar-padding-3.png\" width=\"206\" height=\"144\"><\/p>\n<p>Uncheck <b>Use small taskbar buttons<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>With this done, the padding or gap is reduced considerably.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/taskbar-padding-2.png\" width=\"599\" height=\"46\"><\/p>\n<p><b>Option 2: Use Small Icons for Taskbar Toolbar<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To fully remove the gap or padding area for a better looking Taskbar, right-click Taskbar and uncheck Lock the taskbar.<\/p>\n<p>Right-click on the caption of your Taskbar toolbar.<\/p>\n<p>(<i>In this case, I&#8217;m using the built-in Links toolbar.<\/i>)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/taskbar-padding-4.png\" width=\"598\" height=\"46\"><\/p>\n<p>Click the View menu, and click <b>Small Icons<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Repeat this for every other toolbar added to the taskbar, and lock the Taskbar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/taskbar-padding-5.png\" width=\"437\" height=\"591\"><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it!
