The Photos app package folder in WindowsApps won&#8217;t be removed.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"um2\"><\/a>Option 2: Uninstalling Photos for all users (Complete uninstall)<\/h3>\n<p>Open PowerShell (<strong>admin<\/strong>). To do so, click Start, type <strong>powershell<\/strong>, right-click <strong>Windows Powershell,<\/strong> and choose Run as Administrator.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-photos-reinstall.png\" width=\"380\" height=\"272\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Run the following command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"powershell\">Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos -allusers | Remove-AppxPackage -allusers<\/pre>\n<p>This <strong>completely<\/strong> uninstalls the Photos App for all users and removes the Photos app package from WindowsApps.<\/p>\n<p>(Uninstalling for all users is the preferred method if the Photos app package is corrupt or the folder has incorrect permissions.)<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"reinstall\"><\/a>Reinstall the Photos app<\/h2>\n<h3><a id=\"rm1\"><\/a>Option 1: Reinstalling Photos using PowerShell<\/h3>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve previously uninstalled Photos only for the <strong>current user<\/strong>, you can reinstall it using PowerShell.<\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/information-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9189\" \/>This method doesn&#8217;t help if you previously uninstalled Photos app for <strong>all users<\/strong>. In that case, the Photos app package in WindowsApps won&#8217;t exist.\n<\/div>\n<p>To reinstall the Photos app, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p>Click Start, type powershell, right-click <strong>Windows Powershell,<\/strong> and choose Run as Administrator.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-photos-reinstall.png\" width=\"380\" height=\"272\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Run the following command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"powershell\">Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register \"$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml\"}<\/pre>\n<p>The above command reinstalls the Photos App.<\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<h4>Alternate Way<\/h4>\n<p>Alternately, you can find the <code>PackageFullName<\/code> (or <code>InstallLocation<\/code>) and install it using a different command:<\/p>\n<p>Run the following command to get the Package name of the Photos App.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"powershell\">Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos -allusers | select PackageFullName<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26931\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/ps-reinstall-photos-1.png\" alt=\"reinstall photos app powershell\" width=\"649\" height=\"225\" \/><br \/>\nCopy the Package name displayed in the output.
