Occasionally, on some systems, the Quick access view may appear incorrectly (e.g., the Frequent Folders and Recent Files items get mixed up and show under a single category) due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/reset-folder-views-bags-windows\/\">folder views<\/a> corruption.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The following is the default Quick access folder view:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-qa-views-2.png\" width=\"587\" height=\"567\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The following image depicts the problem where the frequent folders and recent files are grouped together.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-qa-views-1.png\" width=\"587\" height=\"605\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here is a variation of this problem, where the items are mixed up; they can neither be grouped separately nor be sorted by Type.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-qa-views-3.png\" width=\"586\" height=\"593\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Windows 11, the &#8220;Home&#8221; view may appear like below (i.e., the frequent folders and recent files are grouped under a single category named &#8220;Unspecified&#8221;) due to the corrupt folder view settings:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-44699\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/quick-access-home-view-incorrect.png\" alt=\"quick access &quot;home&quot; view incorrect - grouped together\" width=\"961\" height=\"763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/quick-access-home-view-incorrect.png 961w, https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/quick-access-home-view-incorrect-768x610.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 961px) 100vw, 961px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The items are grouped under a single category named &#8220;Unspecified&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>To fix the Quick access (&#8220;Home&#8221;) view, close all folder windows except the one with the Quick access or Home view showing.<\/p>\n<p><b>Important:<\/b> Before following these steps, ensure you&#8217;re in the Quick Access (&#8220;Home&#8221;) view, and <strong>NOT<\/strong> in This PC view.<\/p>\n<p>Right-click the Quick access star icon, and click Options.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-qa-views-4.png\" width=\"381\" height=\"242\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\">In Windows 11, click on the ellipsis button (a button that has three dots <strong>&#8230;<\/strong>) in the command bar, and click <strong>Options<\/strong>. This opens the Folder Options dialog.<\/div>\n<p>Click the View tab, and click <b>Reset Folders<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-qa-views-5.png\" width=\"382\" height=\"475\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click OK when you see the following prompt:<\/p>\n<pre>Do you want to reset all folders of this type to the default view settings?<\/pre>\n<p>This resets the folder views for Quick access (in Windows 10) and &#8220;Home&#8221; (in Windows 11).
