Start the task scheduler service and try again.<\/i><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-dfrg-err-storage-1.png\" width=\"503\" height=\"190\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just as the error message instructs, starting Task Scheduler resolves the problem. Use these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click Start, type <code><b>services.msc<\/b><\/code> and press ENTER<\/li>\n<li>Double-click Task Scheduler service from the list.<\/li>\n<li>Verify if the service is started and the startup type set to <b>Automatic<\/b>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-dfrg-err-storage-2.png\" width=\"431\" height=\"493\" border=\"0\" \/><\/li>\n<li>If it&#8217;s not started, click the Start button to start the service. If the startup type is set to anything other than Automatic, such as Manual or Disabled, and the option is <u>grayed out<\/u>, download <code>Scheduler.reg<\/code> fix (for Windows 7, 8, and Windows 10) referenced in article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/task-scheduler-service-grayed-out-windows\/\">Task Scheduler Service Grayed Out in Services MMC<\/a> and run it.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/schedule-grayed.png\" width=\"431\" height=\"493\" border=\"0\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The REG file should set the Task Scheduler service startup type to Automatic.
