Here is the folder path<\/p>\n<pre>C:\\Users\\<strong>%username%<\/strong>\\AppData\\Local\\Packages\\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\\LocalState\\Assets<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9307\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/assets-folder-lock-images.png\" alt=\"Save Windows Spotlight Lock Screen Wallpapers\" width=\"699\" height=\"232\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"backup\"><\/a>Backup Windows Spotlight images and add .JPG extension<\/h3>\n<p>The above location is not meant to be used as a permanent storage area, as the images you see today in that folder wouldn&#8217;t be available there forever. If you like to store the photos, copy them to a different folder, under your <strong>Pictures<\/strong> folder, or elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>To preview them after copying them to your Pictures folder, add the <code>.jpg<\/code> extension to these files. To do so, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On the folder where you&#8217;ve copied the Spotlight images, type cmd.exe in the Address bar to launch Command Prompt in the current folder.<\/li>\n<li>Typing the following command would add the JPG extension for all the extensionless image files:\n<pre>REN *  *.jpg<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"font-size: inherit;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-spotlight2.png\" alt=\"Save Windows Spotlight Lock Screen Wallpapers\" width=\"513\" height=\"100\" border=\"0\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Remove non-wallpaper files such as tile images<\/h4>\n<p>The Windows Spotlight store folder also contains images that are not wallpapers, such as logos or tile images of smaller dimensions that need to be filtered out.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4511\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4511\" style=\"width: 140px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4511\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/newfilego-6.png\" alt=\"get notified new spotlight image\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4511\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A Tile image found in the Assets folder<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Files with a size of less than 400 KB are probably not wallpaper files. Then, double-click to run the script.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9306\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/spotlight-collection.png\" alt=\"Save Windows Spotlight Lock Screen Wallpapers\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can also place a shortcut of the script in your in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/shell-commands-to-access-the-special-folders\/\">Startup<\/a> folder or run it as a Scheduled Task at regular intervals (hours) so that you don&#8217;t miss a single Windows Spotlight wallpaper.<\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6338\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/icotip.gif\" alt=\"tips bulb icon\" width=\"34\" height=\"34\" \/>Alternately, you can use a folder monitoring tool like <strong>New File Go<\/strong> and automatically configure the program to trigger the above script when Windows 10 downloads a fresh set of lock screen wallpapers into the Assets folder. Check out the article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/new-spotlight-wallpaper-notify-windows-10-lock-screen\/\">Get Notified When Windows 10 Brings a New Spotlight Image Every time<\/a> for more information.<\/div>\n<p>The script does the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Copies only the landscape images by querying the dimensions of each file.<\/li>\n<li>Copies only files that are &gt;250 KB.<\/li>\n<li>If a file of the same name exists in the destination, it ignores and copies the next file.<\/li>\n<li>Adds a <code>.jpg<\/code> extension to the files copied to the <strong>Spotlight collections<\/strong> folder. It doesn&#8217;t change the file name so that you don&#8217;t end up with duplicates in the folder, especially when you run the script at regular intervals on the same day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can run the script at regular intervals using Task Scheduler to copy the new set of Spotlight images downloaded by Windows 10 or 11. Once you collect enough wallpapers, optionally, you can set the Spotlight Collection folder as the desktop background slideshow for your account.
