The registry path needs to be mentioned as a command-line parameter for RegJump.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To make Registry Editor open the <code>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Microsoft<\/code> branch directly, you&#8217;d use this command:<\/p>\n<pre>regjump.exe HKLM\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows<\/pre>\n<p>People have been using this tool for years, but <b>what&#8217;s new<\/b> to regjump.exe is that the latest version v1.1 as of this posting, supports &#8220;<code>-c<\/code>&#8221; switch that takes the registry path stored in the clipboard as the input parameter.<\/p>\n<h2>RegJump utility: open Regedit directly to a given key (stored in clipboard)<\/h2>\n<p>Here is how to directly <strong>jump to a registry key<\/strong> using RegJump.<\/p>\n<p>Download <a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sysinternals\/regjump.aspx?f=255&amp;MSPPError=-2147217396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RegJump<\/a> from Microsoft, and extract the executable to a folder of your choice. Then create a shortcut to RegJump with &#8220;<b>-c<\/b>&#8221; parameter (<i>RegJump.exe -c<\/i>) and place it on the desktop.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/regjump2.png\" width=\"407\" height=\"552\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Optionally you may assign a hotkey to launch this shortcut. As RegJump.exe doesn&#8217;t have any icons, you may click the Change Icon&#8230; and choose an icon from the Shell32.dll if you need. In Windows Vista and higher systems, you need to run this program elevated. To do so, click the <b>Advanced<\/b> tab in RegJump shortcut properties, click <b>Run as administrator<\/b>, and click OK.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/regjump3.png\" width=\"405\" height=\"319\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, when you come across a site discussing registry edits to fix a problem you&#8217;re facing in your computer&#8230; for example, the Microsoft KB article <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/kb\/822005\">822005<\/a> suggests deleting certain keys in the registry to reset Word settings&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/regjump1.png\" width=\"491\" height=\"398\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>..simply copy the registry path mentioned in the article, and launch the RegJump shortcut either by double-clicking or using the previously assigned hotkey.
