For reasons unexplained, in some cases, the libraries may become hidden, and all you need to do is to remove the hidden attribute set from the &#8220;library-ms&#8221; files.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived2\/librares-hidden.png\" width=\"361\" height=\"228\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Removing Hidden Attributes from Libraries<\/h2>\n<p>1. Press WinKey + R, and type the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>CMD \/K CD \/D \"%AppData%\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Libraries\"<\/pre>\n<p>2. Type the following command to unset the Hidden attribute for the library-ms files:<\/p>\n<pre>ATTRIB -H *.library-ms<\/pre>\n<p>3. Type <b>EXIT<\/b> to close the Command Prompt window.<\/p>\n<p><b>Editor&#8217;s Note:<\/b> If the above doesn&#8217;t help, you may rename the default &#8220;.library-ms files&#8221; using these commands:<\/p>\n<pre>REN \"%AppData%\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Libraries\\Documents.library-ms\" Documents.old<\/pre>\n<pre>REN \"%AppData%\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Libraries\\Music.library-ms\" Music.old<\/pre>\n<pre>REN \"%AppData%\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Libraries\\Pictures.library-ms\" Pictures.old<\/pre>\n<pre>REN \"%AppData%\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Libraries\\Videos.library-ms\" Videos.old<\/pre>\n<p>Then, open Windows Explorer, right-click Libraries (in the left pane), and click <b>Restore default libraries<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h2>Show Hidden Files in Explorer<\/h2>\n<p>Alternately, you can configure Windows Explorer to show hidden files, using the steps below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open Windows Explorer, click Organize.<\/li>\n<li>Select Folder and search options.<\/li>\n<li>Click the View tab, and select &#8220;Show hidden files, folders and drives&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Click OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When you open Explorer, all the libraries may be missing, and clicking the &#8220;Restore default libraries&#8221; context menu option would have no effect.
