{"id":1136,"date":"2011-06-05T15:43:52","date_gmt":"2011-06-05T10:13:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/198.58.113.91\/blog\/?p=1136"},"modified":"2021-05-24T19:10:14","modified_gmt":"2021-05-24T13:40:14","slug":"fix-services-mmc-error-one-or-more-activex-controls-not-displayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/fix-services-mmc-error-one-or-more-activex-controls-not-displayed\/","title":{"rendered":"Fix Services MMC Error &#8220;One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you open the Services MMC (<code>services.msc<\/code>), the following errors appear, and the list of services may or may not display after dismissing the error message dialog boxes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"err\">\n<p><b>One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either: <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page, or<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>As a result, the page might not display correctly.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/err-svc-mmc-1.png\" width=\"510\" height=\"269\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; followed by the error <b>Object doesn&#8217;t support property or method &#8216;ConnectTo&#8217;<\/b> in URL <b>mmcndmgr.dll\/views.js<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/err-svc-mmc-2.png\" width=\"539\" height=\"481\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>Click Start, type <b>Regedit.exe<\/b> and press Enter.<\/p>\n<p>Navigate to the following registry branch:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"registry\">HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\Zones<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/sidebargadgets2.png\" width=\"577\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under the Zones key, delete the subkey shown with an ASCII character, as in the above graphic. If it doesn&#8217;t exist, ignore and proceed to the following registry key:<\/p>\n<pre>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\Zones\\0<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/err-svc-mmc-3.png\" width=\"577\" height=\"273\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Double-click the DWORD value named <b>1200<\/b>, and type <b>0<\/b> as its value data.\u00a0The DWORD value <b>1200<\/b> corresponds to IE Security Zone setting &#8220;Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins&#8221;.
