Clearing the Sidebar Gadgets cache using the following steps might help.<\/p>\n<h2>Clear the Windows Sidebar Cache Folder<\/h2>\n<p>Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up the Task Manager.<\/p>\n<p>Exit <b>Sidebar.exe<\/b> process via Task Manager.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/sidebar-cache-1.png\" width=\"330\" height=\"235\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Instructions for Windows 7<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Press WinKey+R, type the following and press ENTER:<\/p>\n<pre>%localappdata%\\Microsoft\\Windows Live\\Services\\<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/sidebar-cache-3.png\" width=\"380\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. Right-click on the &#8220;Cache&#8221; folder, click Rename.<\/p>\n<p>3. Assign a new name (e.g., <code>cache.old<\/code>) for the folder.<\/p>\n<p>4.Press WinKey+R, type the following and press ENTER:<\/p>\n<pre>%localappdata%\\Microsoft\\Windows Sidebar\\Cache<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/sidebar-cache-2.png\" width=\"380\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>5. Delete the folder named <b>53eab605-3b97-4da0-8e92-ea49d47af529<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>The above folder is where the Currency Gadget stores some data. Likewise, Weather gadget stores the data in a folder named 168522d5-1082-4df2-b2f6-9185c31f9472.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>6. Press WinKey+R type <b>Sidebar.exe<\/b> and press ENTER.<\/p>\n<p><b>Instructions for Windows Vista<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1.
