Windows Picture and Fax Viewer lists every picture from the visited web sites?

Symptom

When you preview an image using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, every picture from the previously visited websites may be listed.

Resolution

When you view an attached image directly from your email client (such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express etc), the attachment are stored in the Temporary Internet Files, before it's being previewed. So, the Temporary Internet Files folder becomes Windows Picture and Fax Viewer's working directory, and all the pictures in the Temporary Internet Files are lined up in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. To solve the problem, clear all Temporary Internet Files cache, including the offline content.

Clearing the Temporary Internet Files cache

To clear the Temporary Internet files cache, follow these steps:

1. Start Internet Explorer
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options
3. Click the General tab
4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files
5. Put a checkmark near Delete all offline content
6. Click OK
