Error "not a valid Win32 application" when installing TweakUI

Symptom

When you try to install TweakUI PowerToy, you may receive the following error message:

TweakUIPowertoySetup_ia64.exe is not a valid Win32 application

Cause

This happens if you're trying to install the Itanium 64 bit version of TweakUI in a 32-bit system.

Resolution

Download the correct version of TweakUI. The direct download links (for 32 bit systems) are given below:


Version 2.00	Version 2.10

Tweak UI Version 2.10 requires Windows XP Service Pack 1 (or higher) or Windows Server 2003. If you have a Windows XP system without any Service Packs installed, download Version 2.00.
