I spent hours on the chat to Norton last night thinking I'd got a virus, couldn't open anything because it was all attached to .exe, couldn't get into registry etc. Downloaded your fix and it's all back as was. Heroes!
By the way, I don't fiddle with my system (too scared!) and didn't do anything mad to set this problem all off: I just opened a MICROSOFT (!) download and it asked me what to associate it with, offering my MICROSOFT (!) browser as the first option. I clicked on that (as you do) and complete breakdown ensued. This is such a stupid and obvious problem, yet I can't find anything decent on the m'soft support site. You are wonderful and I salute you.

All my icons showed Acrobat after I installed Reader 8 and 9. The registry download resolved my association problem and the right click on desktop fixed my icons.
I did not make any mistakes regarding the associations. Just wondering if this is a bug in Windows Vista.

Thnx a lot.
