The Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) Files Removal Tool (VSP1CLN.exe) can be used to remove the files that are archived after Windows Vista SP1 is applied. This frees up close to 1 GB of disk space.

You Can Defrag Individual Drives in Vista SP1
After installing Windows Vista Service Pack 1, you’ll note a change in the Disk Defragmenter GUI. There is a new button added that allows you select the drives that you want to defragment. Note that in Windows Vista pre-SP1, you can use the command-line defrag tool (defrag.exe) to defragment individual drives.
