Beware of Scam E-Mail That Claims to Be From Google Staffing Team

A fraudulent (and worm-laden) email arrived in my mail box today containing a zip file claiming to be from Google Staffing, with the title reading "Thank you from Google!".

I downloaded the attachment (from a test system, of course) and the excellent Microsoft Security Essentials nabbed it right away!

Category: Worm

Description: This program is dangerous and self-propagates over a network connection.

Recommendation: Remove this software immediately.

Windows 7 Enterprise 90-Day Trial Is Available From TechNet Evaluation Center

Microsoft TechNet Evaluation Center has made available the Windows 7 Enterprise 90-day Trial pack, so that IT Professionals can test their software and hardware on a final version of the product. Note that you don’t need this Trial pack if you have access to MSDN or TechNet Subscription where you can get the final bits of Windows 7.

The 90-day Trial is the full working version of the Windows 7 Enterprise, and it does not require a product key as it is embedded with the download. The 90-day Trial will shut down once every hour when you have reached the end of the 90-day evaluation period.

Windows 7 Is Now Available for MSDN and TechNet Subscribers

The wait is over! As promised, Microsoft has made available the Windows 7 RTM for MSDN and TechNet subscribers on Aug 6 2009. MSDN/TechNet subscribers can download Windows 7 RTM from the subscriber downloads pages (MSDN / TechNet).

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 Available for Public Download

Microsoft earlier announced the availability of Service Pack 2 for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista to MSDN and TechNet Plus Subscribers. Now the public download of Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 is available. Here are the download links for the standalone installer. Note that it has not hit Windows Updates yet.
