i tried all the above solutions.
the data in the Checked value is coming back to 0.
the checked value is a dword and if i delete it it keeps on coming back.

oh my gosh, i have tried many things (including editing SHOWALL in regedit) and this worked after HOURS of other stuff, thanks!

Thanks it worked for me, thanks. Ive been dealing with this problem for months now, even planned a hard drive wipe-out just to fix this issue.
note: when you right click on foldersettings.reg be sure that the file is saved with the extension .reg not txt, in my case I rename under (cmd) from foldersettings.reg.txt to foldersettings.reg :)
