The Microsoft News server msnews.microsoft.com hosts hundreds of Newsgroups for several Microsoft products. Subscribing to the Microsoft Newsgroup is completely free and doesn’t require you to sign up. Here are the setup instructions for Windows Mail.
Accessing Microsoft Newsgroups using Windows Mail
1. Open Windows Mail. On the Tools menu in Windows Mail, click Accounts.
2. In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click the Add button
3. Select Newsgroup Account, and then click Next.
4. Type in your name. This will be the name displayed when you post a message in the newsgroup.

5. Type your mail address. Important: Do not mention your primary email address in the newsgroups, as it invites spam. You may create one specifically for Newsgroups use, or mention an invalid address such as name@unknownhost or something else. Some use obfuscated mail address such as name@_removethis_domain.com or name@db101domain.com.

6. Type the Microsoft Newsgroup server address, which is msnews.microsoft.com and click Next

7. Click Yes when you’re prompted to view the list of newsgroups.
8. Select the newsgroups from the list which you want to subscribe to. You may use the search option available at the top.

9. Double-click on the newsgroup to subscribe to it. You can subscribe to any number of newsgroups. Close the dialog and in the main window of Windows Mail, click the newsgroup (such as microsoft.public.windows.vista.general) that contains the messages you want to read.
