How to Clear System Information Tool (MSInfo32.exe) History in Windows XP

The System Information Tool (Msinfo32.exe) in Windows XP enables you to view all changes to the computer since a certain date, and time. If you want to clear the History entries in the System Information Tool, read below.

History Information is provided by WMI, and is stored in XML files located in the following folder:

C:\Windows\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Datacoll

To clear the history in the System Information Tool, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the above folder. Backup the XML files in that folder to a different location. Then delete the XML files from the above location. The System Information History is now cleared!

Note that the system will continue to track changes and automatically regenerates the XML files.
