Network folders that are made available offline, using the Offline Files feature in Windows XP are normally displayed with an overlay icon showing two blue arrows, as seen in figure below. If this icon does not show up for those folders, there is a simple command-line fix to get the icon back.

Fix the icon for network folders that are available offline
Login as Administrator (or equivalent) and then run the following command from the Start, Run dialog:
Press {ENTER}. You should see the following message after running the above command:
DllRegisterServer in cscui.dll succeeded.
Restart Windows. If the offline folder icon does not update, try repairing the shell icons using Tweak UI PowerToy for Windows XP.
