Thanks. I was getting fed up and saw this help. The windows 7 error is now fixed, although I do not know why I stopped working in the 1st place – ant Ideas?

I too had a migraine over the .library-ms, searching for days and no fix.
THIS WORKS: Get a Registry editor and open up HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT scroll to .library-ms and edit the top entry to “LibraryFolder” from “Not Set” or what ever it says. I had to look on a working copy of Windoze7 to glean this and viola!
