E-Mail Selected Text in a Web Page Using Snip IT Add-on for Internet Explorer
Did you come across an interesting article or news item in a website, and want to e-mail selected text from that page to your friend? You may use the free SnipIT Add-On from Microsoft. SnipIT can be used to e-mail the selected text in Internet Explorer using the user’s e-mail client of choice.
SnipIT adds the following menu extensions to Internet Explorer:
- Send Using GMail
- Send Using Hotmail
- Send Using MailTo
- Send Using Yahoo
Instructions on using SnipIT
Download Snip IT Add-On for Internet Explorer and install it.
Open a Web page in a new Internet Explorer window
Select/highlight text which you want to send as email.

Right clicking any part of the selected will list available email client options. Select your favorite email client. To use the default mail client configured in the system, select Send Using MailTo.
The selected text forms Body of your message while document title becomes the subject.

The SnipIT menu extension works fine in Windows Vista and Windows XP (with Internet Explorer 6.0 and above).
