Most software utilities released nowadays require .NET Framework to be installed in the computer. One application might require a specific version of .NET Framework to function, while another application might require a different version of .NET Framework. You may want to check the system requirements for the software that you want to install.

How would you determine the version of .NET Framework currently installed in your computer? With different versions of .NET Framework available, identifying the version and sub-version of Mscorlib.dll or using similar methods is not an easy task for end-users. Note that you can install multiple versions of the .NET Framework on a computer.
