In Office 2007, to save documents in legacy format, you choose the 97-2003 format in the File/Save as.. dialog box. Besides this option, you can configure Office 2007 applications to save files in 97-2007 (legacy) format by default.
Word 2007
1. Open Word 2007
2. Press ALT + F to show the File menu
3. Click Word Options
4. Click Save in the left pane
5. In the Save files in this format drop down box, select the following:
6. Click OK.
Excel 2007
1. Open Excel 2007
2. Press ALT + F to show the File menu
3. Click Excel Options
4. Click Save in the left pane
5. In the Save files in this format drop down box, select the following:
6. Click OK.
PowerPoint 2007
1. Open PowerPoint 2007
2. Press ALT + F to show the File menu
3. Click PowerPoint Options
4. Click Save in the left pane
5. In the Save files in this format drop down box, select the following:
6. Click OK.
