The Details Pane located at the bottom of Windows Explorer, displays a set of the file’s properties for any selected file. Popup Menus Appear on the Wrong Side in Windows Vista – Tablet PC Settings
Are popup menus in your Vista PC appearing at the wrong side all of a sudden? For example, when you right-click a file, the context menu may appear on the left hand side, rather than on the right-hand side (default). The same may happen when you open Windows Explorer and click on the File menu.

Fix RSS Feed Update Problems by Resetting the Feeds Database in Internet Explorer 7
Lately, Internet Explorer 7 feed synchronization has stopped working in my Windows Vista computer. The Refresh All command from the Feeds explorer dialog in Internet Explorer did nothing. And manually refreshing the feeds using the msfeedssync command-line did not help either. Using Process Explorer, I could see the msfeedssync.exe process running for a second and terminating. (more…)

Q: Currently my system is configured so that it logs on to my user account automatically (used TweakUI to configure the auto-logon). If I were to uninstall Microsoft Power Toy TweakUI, will it go back to the Windows XP log in screen? I can not remember my password. How can I reset or the password?
Removing TweakUI should not remove the stored credentials from the registry. However, it’s suggested that you reset your user account password immediately as you’ve forgotten it.
As you’re able to login to your system using automatic logon feature, open a Command Prompt (cmd.exe) window once logged on, and then type the following command:
Refresh RSS Feeds in Internet Explorer Using a Shortcut
In Internet Explorer options, there is a Feed Settings dialog box which allows you set the feed synchronization schedule. You can choose one of the following options in that dialog:
- 15 minutes
- 30 minutes
- 1 hour
- 4 hours
- 1 day
- 1 week
Note: To access the above setting, open Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, select the Content tab and then click Settings.
Also, you can use the Refresh All command by right-clicking on a feed in Internet Explorer (Press CTRL + J to open Feeds explorer.) to refresh all the RSS feeds subscribed in Internet Explorer.
Besides these options, how about creating a Desktop shortcut which when clicked, forces a refresh of all the RSS feeds subscribed in Internet Explorer? (more…)




There are situations where you need to open plain-text files (where the file type is not registered in your system, or the file has NO extension at all) using Notepad or any other text editor. Usually, you use the Open With dialog and select Notepad from the list. If Notepad is not available in the list, you browse to Notepad.exe in the Windows folder and add it to the dialog.
