Symptoms

1. Help and Support Center pages are not rendered correctly, and you receive script errors when viewing most of the topics in Help and Support.
2. The menu bar in Help and Support may be missing
3. Help and Support launches when you try to open System Information tool (MSINFO32.EXE)
4. Windows Update does not work correctly
5. When you try to open a MMC console such as Device Manager, Computer Management, Services applet, or Shared folders console, you receive an error message that is similar to the following:

MMC cannot open the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\compmgmt.msc.

This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file.

Resolution

Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 msxml3.dll
