When I open the Program Compatibility wizard, the three buttons at the bottom are blank, and inoperable.
I'm trying to install AncestryView on Windows XP, which requires the Program Compatibility Wizard. When I open the wizard, however, the three buttons at the bottom are blank. If I click the third button, it cancels the wizard, but the other two don't do anything at all. I even tried disabling the anti-virus program and firewall to see if that was the problem, but it didn't work.
Click Start, Run and type:
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
Press Enter. Similarly, execute the following commands:
regsvr32 compatui.dll
regsvr32 wshom.ocx
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 mshtmled.dll
The Program Compatibility Wizard should now open correctly.
