When you double-click an event log entry to view more details about the event, nothing may happen.
Event Properties page does not open when you double-click an Event log entry

Symptoms

When you double-click an event log entry to view more details about the event, nothing may happen. Also, when you right-click the event and choose Properties, a blank dialog with the following message may appear:

No properties are available on this object

Resolution

Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 els.dll

Press Enter. You should see the following message

DllRegisterServer in els.dll succeeded.

Close Event viewer and re-open it.
