When you use the Spell check feature when composing a new mail message in Windows Mail, the following error message may be displayed:
This language is no longer available for spell checking. Please select another in the spelling options dialog.

Resolution
This happens if the default language is not set in the spell checker options. Follow these steps to resolve the problem:
1. Start Windows Mail
2. From the main screen in Windows Mail, click the Tools menu and choose Options...
3. Click the Spelling tab From the Language drop-down, select English even though it's already listed as the default selection, and click Apply.
4. Click OK

Great info deals with the first part of the problem I am having, i.e. it deals with the dumb error! part two of the problem is that I am ENGLISH and I would like to spell check in the original version not the U.S. version. Any suggestions

I think it may have taken care of the spelling but it did not check for punctuation. Is that something additional?

Thank you. My language was already set for English, so I do not understand why I was getting this message in the first place, but all it needed, I guess, was another "jump-start"; I made believe I was re-setting the language to English, hit apply, and everything worked fine after that!

Thanks! This seems to be a simple and permanent fix to this issue. I noticed in my case that the language pull-down menu was already set to English while the malfunction occured, just re-entering "English" and restarting the program did the trick!

Thanks, it works - BUT I am Danish. How do I get it to accept both Danish and English? - My old one used to 'understand' the language itself and automatically adopt the correct language spell. How do I do that???
