How to disable minipreview of images in the Thumbnail view of a folder?
Question
When a folder contains images or video clips, the Thumbnail view of that folder shows a tiny 4-square preview of the first four images in that folder. How do I turn this off? I just want to see a normal folder thumbnail, as if the folder contained documents or other folders.
Answer
To prevent the minipreview of images in the Thumbnail view of a folder, place a dummy file named folder.gif or folder.jpg in that particular folder. Unfortunately, there is no GUI option to disable this feature system-wide.
If that does not help, delete the file named Thumbs.db (hidden file) in that folder.
