Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer in Mozilla Firefox
Question
Using Mozilla Firefox, I'm trying to assign Windows Picture and Fax Viewer over Photoshop as default when opening image files, but I can't find the program in windows explorer. Where is the application file for windows Windows Picture and Fax Viewer? The problem seems unique to Firefox, i.e, it ignores the typical image file assignments. For example, when I try to view a .jpg from Yahoo mail, it defaults to psd, but when I go to browse for an alternative program, it goes straight to Windows Explorer without providing a list of typical programs to use. In Internet Explorer, Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is one of the listed aside from the Browse option.
Answer
This is because the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer itself is a DLL file rather than a EXE. Windows Picture and Fax Viewer can't be selected using the browse dialog from Mozilla Firefox. Only option is to set Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer in Windows, so that it's listed automatically in the Mozilla Firefox Browse dialog. You may try fixing the JPG association using one of the fixes:
